The story

Why Meridova exists

The EMR is the single entry point for every patient. Doctors book appointments, write prescriptions, order labs and admit to IPD from one patient screen. A clinical decision support layer checks every prescription and lab result as it happens, flagging allergy conflicts, drug interactions, duplicate orders and critical values, and pushes alerts to the doctor in real time.

Every role (doctor, nurse, receptionist, lab technician, pharmacist, accountant, HR and more) lands on its own workspace and sees only what its job needs.

Before Meridova

The problem it solves

  1. 1

Patient records are scattered across paper files, separate lab software and pharmacy registers

  2. 2

Doctors prescribe without seeing allergies, interactions or duplicate tests

  3. 3

Pharmacy stock and expiry are tracked by hand, so medicines run out or expire on the shelf

  4. 4

Billing misses charges from IPD stays, labs and dispensed medicine

  5. 5

Insurance panel claims are slow to file and hard to follow up

From the first step to live

How it works

  1. 1

Receptionist registers the patient (MRN auto-generated) and books an appointment, which issues a token

  2. 2

Doctor calls the token, reviews the EMR and prescribes, and CDSS checks run instantly

  3. 3

Lab orders are collected, processed and resulted, with critical values flagged to the doctor

  4. 4

Pharmacist dispenses from the oldest batch first, and the charge goes onto the bill

  5. 5

If needed, the patient is admitted to IPD: bed assigned, nurses alerted for medications, daily rounds

  6. 6

On discharge a summary is generated, the bed is freed and the final bill settles room charges

In the real world

Where it fits

  • Multi-specialty private hospital going paperless
  • Clinic chain standardising OPD and billing across locations
  • Diagnostic centre running lab, radiology and reporting
  • Dental practice managing charts, plans and recalls
  • Hospital working with corporate and insurance panels

The ending

What changes

  • Safer prescribing: allergies and interactions are caught before the patient gets the drug
  • One patient record across OPD, IPD, lab and pharmacy
  • Fewer lost charges, because billing is fed by every department
  • Medicine stock that tracks itself by batch and expiry
  • Faster insurance claims with aging visibility
  • Each staff member opens straight onto their own work queue
  • Start on Basic and add modules as the hospital grows
